Chapter 23 - Calibrating Bed Z (Manual)

This procedure explain how to calibrate manually the BED, the goal is to write in the EEPROM of SpiderBot the right Z level value Manual mode
You'll need a piece of paper (a standard 80 or 90gr/m sheet of paper thickness 0.10mm bended 3 times) position it on the center of the bed

 1.     Setup the EEPROM value Zmax length to 280mm

 2.     Setup the Repetier Host Printable height value to 280.00mm ( Tab Printer Shape of Printer Setting dailog box)

 3.     Click on -Z button with steps of 10mm until the head is at approx 20mm of the bed

Click on -Z button with steps of 1mm until the head is at approx 2mm of the bed

 4.     Click on -Z button with steps of 0.1mm until the head touch the paper. Move the paper to check when the head touch.
Note carefully the Z value displayed  when the head touch the paper
In the example above the Z value is 31.20mmThe Z distance is 280mm minus the Z value you read, in the example the Z distance is
 280.00 – 31.20 = 248.80mm
5.     Click on EEPROM Configuration

And replace the Z max length [mm] by the Value you have calculated
Click on OK button
The value is saved in the EEPROM
